VOTE

Challenge

As part of a university design assignment during the 2016 U.S. presidential election, the objective was to create a visual campaign that encouraged civic participation and inspired eligible voters to exercise their right to vote. The challenge was to communicate an important public message through a clear, engaging, and memorable design.

Solution

Designed a campaign poster centered around a single call to action: Vote. Rather than relying on multiple slogans or complex imagery, the composition was intentionally developed to communicate the message through symbolism. The arrangement of visual elements subtly references the American flag, while the typography and graphic forms evoke the familiar appearance of a completed ballot and check mark. By combining these recognizable symbols into one cohesive composition, the design reinforces ideas of patriotism, civic responsibility, and democratic participation while encouraging viewers to take action.

Outcome

The project demonstrated how graphic design can be used to communicate a meaningful public message through both symbolism and visual storytelling. It reflects my approach to designing with intention—using composition, color, and symbolism to create work that resonates beyond aesthetics.
